The Mandalorian: Season Two Review

This review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

It's official. I have a new favorite show of all time.

It won't top Doctor Who, though. Nothing ever tops Doctor Who.

I don't know how they did it, but the writers took the perfection that was The Mandalorian season one and made it even better. The writing, the characters, every single thing about this season was perfection.

Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin was brilliant as always. Returning characters Cara Dune, Greef Karga, Peli Motto, Fennec Shand, and Moff Gideon were amazingly performed as well. And newly-introduced characters like Cobb Vanth, Boba Fett, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Ahsoka Tano were outstanding and this cast lineup made the series even better for me. And of course, there was the amazing cameo from Luke Skywalker (which was unfortunately spoiled for me). 

But we all know who I need to talk about now... the one and only Baby Yoda, aka Grogu! Because the adorable baby finally has a name now!

Grogu definitely had his own improvements in this season. The first thing I noticed was the increase of screen time he was given- Disney must've finally realized the goldmine they were sitting on and decided to capitalize on it, which was a good thing for me and the other Grogu stans. He also was a lot more vocal in this season, and I noticed they dropped the CGI look that he would occasionally switch between in the first season. Overall, he was truly the star of this season.

The plot and writing were, once again, absolutely phenomenal. I really loved that the plot was mainly built around Grogu, with him being kidnapped by Gideon, found by the Mandalorian, and taken away to Jedi boarding school by Luke Skywalker. I was very sad to see Grogu leaving the Mandalorian's side, but I know he'll be back- knowing Disney, they won't give up on their cash cow so easily.

Finally, I have to say RIP to the Razor Crest. I wonder how Mando's going to get around in season three. Anyways, I think I need to go watch The Clone Wars now, but until then I give this 5 out of 5 stars.

Edit: I wanted to make a statement that I no longer support Gina Carino. My thoughts on the character of Cara Dune remain the same.

Happy end of year everyone! This one has been absolutely crazy for me, dealing with some of the uppiest ups and the downiest downs. I would summarize this year in one word: a rollercoaster. But throughout this year, one thing has been pretty consistent for me, and that would be reading. Through all of the crazy events of my life this year, it was rare when I was without a book (or e-reader) in hand. I actually read so much, that... I read 110 books this year! Go me! I'm very proud of myself for achieving this goal, as I've never read 100 books before, much less 110. My previous record was 79 books in 2021, and my original goal for this year was 80. I credit my ability to read so much more due to two things: one, the Kindle Fire HD 8 I received for Christmas in 2023, and two, my job allowing me ample reading time (while the kiddos sleep, of course). Every person interested in true crime has that one case that sticks with them. The one case that keeps them awake at three in the morning, the one case that boggles the mind. From The Vault: Speculation On the Upcoming Vault Tracks from Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)

With the Tortured Poets Department era seemingly coming to a close soon, considering the speculated upcoming announcement for Reputation (Taylor's Version) , my mind has been on the vault tracks lately. In particular, the countless possibilities for the Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version ) vault tracks. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of interest in the Reputation vault tracks, but we don't have much knowledge on what those might be. Beyond possible re-recorded versions of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with ZAYN, Taylor-penned Rihanna hit "This Is What You Came For," as well as scrapped Lover track "Need," we only have one other known song from this time: "Family," a song registered by Taylor in May of 2018 on GEMA and mentioned in an interview with Scott Swift, is the only unreleased song from the Reputation era that the public is aware of.
