REVIEW: King of Fools by Amanda Foody
I have received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book through the author. This has not affected my rating in any way.
Thank you to Amanda Foody for sending me an Advance Reader’s Copy of King of Fools!
King of Fools was a slow-paced, politically heavy follow up to Amanda Foody's Ace of Shades. However, the ending made it all worth it.
Where we left off in The Shadow Game universe, Enne and Levi had just barely escaped from the Shadow Games with their lives. Now, the lord of the Irons has made an unlikely deal with Harrison Augustine- Vianca's son- and Enne is building her own gang as Seance while still working for Vianca as one of her ladies. What follows is partnerships, romance, action, destruction, and even death.
I enjoyed King of Fools, though it did take me quite a while to get through. This book ends up being a whopping six-hundred pages! But don't worry, this beautiful and dastardly story is worth every single page. I very much enjoyed the development of Enne's character from a meek and scared ballet dancer to a ruthless and cunning street lady. Levi's point of view, though, did not have me as captured. And Jac... I think you'll just have to read this one to see.
With plenty of twists and turns and cliffhangers that kept me on the edge of my seat, Amanda Foody's King of Fools sure had me fooled. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
King of Fools by Amanda Foody will be available on April 30th, 2019.
