February 2025 Album Review Wrap-Up
Hi all and welcome back to another album review wrap-up! Another shorter month this time around...
Forever & Ever by Thee Heart Tones
Favorites: 2024
I love this album so much. It took me a while to get this review out because I couldn’t stop listening to it on repeat. I’ve been searching for music similar to Clairo’s Charm, a ‘70s soul-funk-jazz inspired album that was made in modern day (and not, well, the ’70s), and so far in my search this is the closest hit. Gorgeous, underrated piece of art. <3
Favorites: It’s Time, Highway of Love, No Longer Mine
Overall Rating: 5/5 Stars
Midnight Cinema by Joanna Wang
Released: 2014
I don’t typically go out of my way to listen to albums that are primarily not in a language I speak, but I happened across the track “Alice In Wonderland” and fell in love. Upon listening to the full album, it’s a pretty even split of English and Chinese songs. The production is what drew me in, and Joanna’s vocals are so soothing and fit well. I definitely want to check out more of Joanna Wang’s music, mainly her English songs and covers.
Favorites: Alice In Wonderland, Moon River, Pure Imagination
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
SUPERCLEAN Vol. 1 by The Marías
Released: 2017
A nice blend of alternative pop and Latin tracks. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to hearing more!
Favorites: I Don’t Know You, I Like It, Only In My Dreams
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
SUPERCLEAN Vol. 2 by The Marías
Released: 2018
The second half of The Marías debut project, I think I loved this half just a tad more.
Favorites: Over The Moon, ABQ, Ruthless
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
Milk Teeth by Suki Waterhouse
Released: 2022
My first time listening to Suki Waterhouse, and unfortunately beyond a couple of songs I am just not that impressed. Will be listening to her debut album before truly deciding about how I feel about her music first.
Favorites: Good Looking, Brutally
Overall Rating: 3/5 Stars
See you next month!
