January 2025 Album Review Wrap-Up
Hi all and welcome back to another album review wrap-up! I listened to waaay too many self-titled projects this month.
Melody's Echo Chamber by Melody's Echo Chamber
Released: 2012
An album I found while looking for recommendations for fans of psychedelic pop, I really enjoyed this! Will probably have to give it more listens though.
Favorites: You Won’t Be Missing That Part of Me, Mount Hopeless, I Follow You
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
Bon Voyage by Melody's Echo Chamber
Released: 2018
Didn't enjoy this one as much as their debut, but I still liked it! Will be listening to more from Melody's Echo Chamber soon! :)
Favorites: Cross My Heart, Shirim
Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
Marci by Marci
Released: 2022
Nice blend of HAIM-esque alternative and modern sunshine pop. This seems to be very underrated, I really enjoyed it! Only disappointed to find that this is Marci's only release.
Favorites: Terminal, Where Love Had Just Begun, Call The Wild
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
The Shacks by The Shacks
Released: 2016
I heard This Strange Effect in an Apple commercial years ago, and I've had it in my playlist ever since. I figured it was time to finally give the full extended play a listen. I really love how mellow it sounds, and the vocalist gives such a calming effect.
Favorites: This Strange Effect, Left It With The Moon, Hands In Your Pockets
Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars
Haze by The Shacks
Released: 2018
Co-produced by my favorite producer of all time, this album was destined to be a hit for me. I love how he takes The Shacks already-mellow production and adds his retro vibe to it.
Favorites: Nobody Nobody, Sand Song, All Day Long
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
See you next month!
