REVIEW: The Mandalorian: Season Three

Why did people stop forgetting how to have fun?

After three years, The Mandalorian is back! Though we did briefly get to see him and Grogu in The Book of Boba Fett, I've been anxiously awaiting the next season of my beloved show and it did not disappoint!

Pedro Pascal's performance as Din Djarin was great as always, though I was pretty disappointed to see no helmet removal scene as we've had in the prior two seasons. Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze stepped up into a main character role for this season, and while I understand the complaints about this decision, I for one actually liked it. I also enjoyed the return of characters like Moff Gideon, Peli Motto, Greef Karga, and The Armorer. I was expecting more cameos though, from Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, or even Luke Skywalker again, but I'm not too disappointed with the cast lineup for this season.

Of course I need to talk about my favoritest character in any media ever of all time, Grogu. He was so cute and vocal in this season! He sounds like he's trying to move on from babbling to talking and I'm so excited to hopefully hear him say his first words. He was also so brave in retrieving Bo-Katan to save his dad, and drawing the attention of the Stormtroopers. And of course, the scene where he was officially adopted by Din was what we've all been waiting for! (Though I have no idea why he took Din's first name instead of his surname. A Mandalorian culture thing, perhaps?)

The writing and overall plot seemed to be heavily complained about by viewers online, with many saying that the show felt too cheesy or full of filler. I have to disagree with those statements. One of the most complained-about episodes, Chapter Twenty-Two: Guns For Hire, was the most fun and one of my favorites of the season. I think some viewers forgot that, while this show originated as dark and gritty, it is a Star Wars show. Star Wars is supposed to be fun, cheesy, and campy!

While I don't think it's most recent season was as good as it's prior season, I think it was about just as good as the first season. With that, I give this season 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Happy end of year everyone! This one has been absolutely crazy for me, dealing with some of the uppiest ups and the downiest downs. I would summarize this year in one word: a rollercoaster. But throughout this year, one thing has been pretty consistent for me, and that would be reading. Through all of the crazy events of my life this year, it was rare when I was without a book (or e-reader) in hand. I actually read so much, that... I read 110 books this year! Go me! I'm very proud of myself for achieving this goal, as I've never read 100 books before, much less 110. My previous record was 79 books in 2021, and my original goal for this year was 80. Every person interested in true crime has that one case that sticks with them. The one case that keeps them awake at three in the morning, the one case that boggles the mind. From The Vault: Speculation On the Upcoming Vault Tracks from Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)

With the Tortured Poets Department era seemingly coming to a close soon, considering the speculated upcoming announcement for Reputation (Taylor's Version) , my mind has been on the vault tracks lately. In particular, the countless possibilities for the Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version ) vault tracks. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of interest in the Reputation vault tracks, but we don't have much knowledge on what those might be. Beyond possible re-recorded versions of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with ZAYN, Taylor-penned Rihanna hit "This Is What You Came For," as well as scrapped Lover track "Need," we only have one other known song from this time: "Family," a song registered by Taylor in May of 2018 on GEMA and mentioned in an interview with Scott Swift, is the only unreleased song from the Reputation era that the public is aware of.
