The Best FREE YA Books on Amazon!
We all know how Amazon Kindle is a host for indie authors to put their work out there. There are some awesome freebies out there, and here are some of my favorites!
The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana
The Confectioner’s Guild is a rare diamond in the rough of Amazon Kindle’s free books. It is the first in a three book series with a prequel novella. We follow Wren Confectioner, a young sweets maker as she finds out that she has magic that she channels into her confections. After the guildmaster is poisoned, Wren is accused of his murder. Wren, along with a zany cast of characters must find the real killer before she is executed.
I was not expecting the ending, let me tell you. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who it was, and when the killer was finally revealed... wow! This book kept me wondering, with it’s many twists and turns. Its a perfect young adult mystery novel for fans of Truly Devious.
The Memory Thief by Rachel Morgan
The Memory Thief is the first in a six-novella series, with the novellas being in an episodic format. We follow Elle, a human in a world full of paranormal creatures. As humans don’t have as many rights, Elle must portray herself as a fae to get by. When Elle meets the handsome Dex, things begin to get weird.
This series as a whole is a quick and entertaining read, and I really enjoyed reading it! This series is a paranormal retelling of Cinderella, perfect for fans of The Lunar Chronicles.
Unenchanted by Chanda Hahn
While Unenchanted has been on the market for half a decade now, it’s still worth mentioning. This was one of the first Kindle books I’ve ever read, and it is the first of a six book series. We follow Mina Grime, your typical girl who just has some... weird things happen when she’s around. When she finds out that she is the descendant of the Brothers Grimm, it’s up to Mina to break the family curse and finish the fairy tales once and for all.
This series is a little bit more on the juvenile side (I’d say 13 to 15 years old), but it’s still a good read. A modern day retelling of fairytales, this series is perfect for fans of Geekerella.
All of these books are FREE on Amazon Kindle, so go grab your copy now!
