The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Coming to Nintendo Switch!

Great news for Ace Attorney fans today, as the long awaited Dai Gyakuten Saiban is getting an English release!

Rumors had been floating around for a while that The Great Ace Attorney would be getting an localization, and those rumors seemed to be true when a leak surfaced of Capcom’s planned games. Of those planned games, a Dai Gyakuten Saiban translation seemed to be among them.

A few months later, on April 21st 2021 Shu Takumi himself confirmed it in a YouTube video uploaded to the official Ace Attorney account.

It was the most exciting news Ace Attorney fans had gotten in a while. The last localized entry in the series had been Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice in 2016, making it almost 5 years without a new Ace Attorney game.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles consists of two games, in similar fashion to the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy. The first game is The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures (previously called The Adventures of Ryunnosuke Naruhodo) and the second game is called The Great Ace Attorney: Resolve (previously called The Resolution of Ryunnosuke Naruhodo).

These games are very different from the mainline Ace Attorney games. There is a new protagonist, a new cast of characters, and even a new time period! Set in the 19th century, Phoenix Wright’s ancestor and his friends (one affectionately named Herlock Sholmes- yes, you read that right) must solve cases in Japan and England!

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will be available on Nintendo Switch, Playstation, and Steam on July 27th 2021!
