REVIEW: Sky In the Deep by Adrienne Young
I have received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book through the publisher. This has not affected my rating in any way.

“Vegr yfir fjor. Honor above life.”
I keep seeing five stars being handed out to this book left and right and... I don’t know what you guys read, but I did not particularly “adore” this one.
Sky In the Deep, personally, was not an enjoyable story, but it was engaging enough to keep me reading. There were many parts that were unnecessarily gruesome or cringey. I had to skim over one of those gruesome parts just because I felt like I would’ve thrown up had I fully read it. By the ending, I just wanted it to be over.
The things I did like about this book was the romance (because you all know I’m a sucker for a good romance). The romance between the two main characters is a slow-burn. It’s very sweet and well-developed, and had my favorite enemies-to-lovers trope. I also liked the writing style. To me, it was most similar to Sarah J. Maas’s writing style in the first Throne of Glass novels and Kerri Maniscalco’s writing style in the Stalking Jack the Ripper novels.
All in all, this was good for a debut novel and I will definitely be reading more from Adrienne Young in the future.
3 out of 5 stars.
Sky In the Deep by Adrienne Young will be released on April 24th, 2018.
